Elizabeth Reuthe consults with organizations focusing on growth, change and transformation. She works to support the new direction and implement creative ways of incorporating new techniques and technologies that move the entire enterprise toward improved profitability. Recently, Ms. Reuthe has helped organizations maximize knowledge transfer, to stimulate and facilitate knowledge co-creation across corporations and across cultures, and to understand how to measure performance and to value these activities.
She has created innovative cross-corporate multi-year change efforts with Intel, Siemens, World Bank, University of New Brunswick, Celemi AB, U.S. Dept. of Commerce, National Institute of Standards & Technology, Honeywell Aerospace, Microdyne (Call Centers), University of Southern Maine, and many others. She serves on several boards: Portland Glass, Kennebec Tool and Die, Envisionet Technical Services, Stroudwater Technologies, Maine Science and Technology Foundation, Loring Development Auth. and several not-for-profit organizations.
Her extensive manufacturing experience includes: vice president for operations at IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., a biotech startup; Digital Equipment Corp. plant manager making complex circuit boards and systems; corporate director for materials at Allied-Signal’s Fram Corp., manufacturer of filters, spark plugs and brakes; and plant manager for a Bendix Corp. plant fabricating brake systems.
In these positions, Ms. Reuthe created new businesses, set up new automated manufacturing lines, introduced new products, managed design and construction of a new factory and formed cross-functional teams. She applied lean manufacturing techniques, including demand-pull manufacturing, set-up reduction, SPC and just-in-time supply chains. She negotiated union work rules for joint problem-solving, integrated worldwide scheduling with local production controls and created new distribution strategies. All the while she grew sales, cut costs, increased margins and won recognition from corporate parents and customers.
Ms. Reuthe earned a Master of Science in Business Administration from Indiana Univ. and a Bachelor of Science degree from Univ. of Pittsburgh. She graduated from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland’s Organization and System Development Program and several post-graduate programs concentrating on group process, intimate systems, individuals, and physical process. She is a certified coaching trainer through Corporate Coach U International.
Ms. Reuthe is married to the CEO of a computer software company, and spends as much time as possible riding horses on her farm in Maine.
